Shaq Shakes the Suns and NBA
Shaquille O'Neal was traded from the Miami Heat to the Phoenix Suns officially on Thursday after passing his physical.
Shaq has had his share of injuries which have been caused by weight as well as wear and tear which The Tank can unfortunately relate to.
However, this trade gives Shaq time to get healthy and in shape for the playoffs which a couple of months away starting in mid April. With Shaq on the floor, the Suns might not run as much but he's there for his low post presence on offense and defense.
Even if Shaq isn't ready this season, watch him push hard in the last two years of his career and possibly Hall of Fame career.
The Heat benefitted by getting younger with Sharion Marion and Marcus Banks to help Dwayne Wade contend again in the near future. We can only hope that they and others stop the third part of the Boston Sports Apocalypse, the Eastern Conference leading Celtics.
As for local teams, the Nets are currently the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. Jason Kidd to Dallas trade rumors continue to linger. The Eastern Conference is so bad that the 14-35 Knicks are only six games out of the playoffs with 33 games to play. I don't think they'll make it, especially with their inconsistent play, but you never know.
