Roger Federer was upset by Tomas Berdych on Wednesday at Wimbledon.  It’s the first time he won’t be in the Wimbledon Final since 2002.  No shame in that.  Federer mentioned injuries in the post match press conference.  Fine, that’s legitimate.  But he didn’t Berdych his due.  Berdych is a good player. 

Federer is nearing the end of his career at 29.  If I were Federer, I would get ready for the 2010 US Open and make a farewell run in the 2011 Grand Slams.  Then, he can prepare for the 2012 Olympics which is the only thing he hasn’t won.  Winning the Olympics would be a great end to arguably the greatest men’s tennis player of all time.
