Championship Week

March Madness is now in full effect.  Conference Championship games started this past weekend and will continue all week through Sunday, March 14.  CBS will have their NCAA Selection Show on Sunday night.  This is even more important than Oscar night.  :-)

Tickets will be punched to the Big Dance.  Some will make it and others will be heartbroken.  The good news is that Syracuse is in the running for a #1 seed in the Big Dance as it is #3 in the polls according to Michelle's text on Monday afternoon.  Thanks Michelle!  Michelle is a member of the SATT Council of College Basketball Experts.

Syracuse will get a double bye in the first two rounds of the Big East Tournament which begin on Tuesday night at the Garden.  Syracuse won't have to play until Thursday night.  If Syracuse wins the quarterfinals on Thursday, semifinals on Friday, and finals on Saturday, they have a good shot at being the #1 overall seed because they would have won the automatic bid and the Big East is the best basketball conference in the country regardless of what Kal says about the Big Ten.  The Big Ten is better than the ACC but not as good as the Big East.

If I was the Selection Committee, I would seed Syracuse #1 in the East Region, Kentucky #1 in the South Region, Kansas #1 in the Midwest Region, and Duke #1 in the West Region.  Duke travels well and it's about time they hit the road.

First thing first.  I am getting ready for a Garden Party and then March Madness.
